Today the project is controlled destruction of the basement.
I have already pulled up carpet and scraped up vinyl tile. (That was really icky, as they were moldy and there had been a crop of mushrooms growing in the carpet.) Now it is time to pull off panelling and 2 x 2's that form the walls of the "finished" portion of the room.
There is something therapeutic about controlled destruction. You can always see the progress you have made, and it's an opportunity to work out frustrations in a constructive way. Plus, you get to break stuff with tools, which is always good. Too bad I don't get to use fire or explosives.
I'll post before-and-afters later.
