I knew it would be difficult to let go. I knew it would be hard to let my kid trip and fall. But when I had to shrug my shoulders and say, “I guess you’ll just have to take the lower grade, since you spaced bringing your assignment home, and didn’t check your assignments until nearly bedtime” I pretty much wanted to cry.

I know this is just the first of many examples of having to let my kid fall down when it matters, gradewise. But I wish someone would assure me it will be easier next time. Anyone? Anyone?
