Continuing saga of the basement:
In preparation for the water-control people to come and jackhammer the shit out of the perimeter of the basement, we have decided to move the built-in bookshelf/storage shelves in the corner. This might not sound like a big deal, but when pack rat marries pack rat, storage can be a bundle of surprises.
I went through stacks and piles of magazines – mostly Parachutist and Skydiving, with a few other choice tidbits thrown in. I found my 1994 tax return. There were some pictures of the cats and of my esteemed spouse from back in the day.
I also discovered a lot of correspondence from old friends, bumper stickers, and my diamond free fall certificate. Also, there were high school and junior high yearbooks and D&D manuals – Yes, I was a gaming dweeb.
And that was only in one compartment! I know there are a ton of treasures awaiting me… I don't know whether to be excited or scared.
